Meet the Owners
Doug & Diane Amaral
No strangers to success in the restaurant industry, Doug & Diane opened River City Grill in 2003. This fine establishment brought life to Marion Ave and downtown Punta Gorda, just as their first restaurant “Mangrove Cafe” (which opened in 1990) did in Naples on 5th Ave South.
Italia is their 3rd joint venture, and it has proven as successful as its sister restaurants. Mangia!
What makes ITALIA different from the rest?
- We use fresh clams harvested from our waters
- We purchase the finest Italian Cheeses available
- We raise our own Red Angus cattle at Onion River Ranch for use in our meatballs, bolognese and ragu.
- We only use FRESH mussels, fish and chicken
- We use Harrington Heirloom tomatoes in our burrata caprese & prosciutto plate
- We use Italian San Marzano Tomatoes in our sauce
Our Tuscan Table has homemade garlic and herb infused extra virgin olive oil, rosemary infused balsamic vinegar and organic vegetables freshly picked at Worden Farms and Aloe Organics. All available for purchase after a delightful dinner
